About

Supporting clients in moving through challenges with grace and integrity

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” ― Viktor E. Frankl I am a licensed psychologist providing individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents. I received my doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in 2005. I completed my internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds, MA, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. I also have experience working in college counseling and community mental health. I specialize in working with clients moving through profound life transitions - birthing, illness, dying, identity shifts, relationship endings. These changes often bring a sense of groundlessness and invite us to consider some of life’s big questions (e.g., "why are we here?", "why do we suffer?", "what is my purpose?", "why is this happening to me?", "who am I?"). I support clients in exploring and integrating the complex feelings, thoughts, and decisions that arise from those liminal (neither here nor there) spaces. I have completed advanced training in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and am certified as a PMH-C through Postpartum Support International. I also have extensive training and experience working with people diagnosed with cancer. My approach is tailored to to the needs of individual clients and emphasizes an integrated mix of psychodynamic, interpersonal, existential, and cognitive-behavioral theories and techniques. I see the relationship between the psychotherapist and client as mutative and endeavor to form strong connections with the people I work with. I believe that psychotherapy alleviates suffering through learning to relate to oneself, others, and the larger world with greater flexibility and acceptance.
